Best One-Step Prop Firm Evaluations
A one-step challenge replaces the standard two-phase evaluation with a single profit target. You skip the verification phase entirely. The trade-off is usually a higher profit target (8% to 10% in one phase rather than 10% then 5%) or a slightly tighter drawdown.
One-step is the most common evaluation structure outside of the legacy FTMO 2-step model. Apex, My Funded Futures, FundingPips and the futures-firm category run one-step exclusively. The pricing is essentially identical to the equivalent 2-step fee, with the simpler timeline being the main selling point.

Frequently asked questions
Is one-step easier than two-step?
No. A one-step evaluation typically asks for the full profit target in a single phase, where a 2-step splits it (10% then 5%). The same statistical pass rate applies; the difference is timeline, not difficulty.
Which firms still run two-step only?
FTMO is the most prominent two-step purist on the forex side. Most other major firms run one-step as standard or alongside a two-step product.
Do one-step firms allow a free retry on failure?
Only via the standard reset fee, which on most one-step firms runs in the 50 to 100 dollar range for a 100K account.
