This site is free to read. Some of the links that take you to a firm carry a referral tag, and if you buy an evaluation after following one, the firm pays us a commission. You pay the same price either way.
What a referral link changes
Nothing you can see. A firm’s position in a table, its score, the wording of its review and the changes we publish are all produced before anyone looks at whether a referral tag exists. There is no paid placement, no sponsored review and no way to buy a better ranking.
Which links are affiliate links
Every outbound link that goes to a firm’s own website may carry a tag. You can always reach the firm by typing its address into your browser instead, and every figure we publish names the page it came from, so you can check it without using our link at all.
Why we accept commissions
Verifying pricing and rules across dozens of firms takes continuous work. Commissions pay for that work instead of advertising, which would put the firms themselves in charge of what you read. If a firm asks us to soften a review in exchange for a better rate, we say no and record that it happened.
If you would rather not
Use the firm’s address directly. It costs us the commission and costs you nothing, and the comparison stays exactly as useful.
